From the family of Henri Christophe, one of the leaders of the revolt against the Frenchin the time of Napolean.
It was because of the disheartening effect of that rebellion that Napolean became willing to sell the French holding on the Mainland in the Lousiana Purchase.
Osmin M. Christophe's work gives a rebellious edge to his decidedly post Impressist vision of of the sea and the shore in the Carribean.
His paintings are lively, colorful and bold.
