Emmanuel was known to me in 1978-79 when I hired him to draw motivational posters for our project.
I was Director of Social Animation in a CIDA project situated at Petit Goave, Haiti.
He did two paintings for me which still hang in my living room as they represent scenes he knew I saw daily in my work. He was to me a great friend.
We lost tract of each other when I was working in West Africa.
I remember that the last letter I received from him was covered with postage stamps.
I wondered why until I realised that each Haitian stamp was a copy of one of his paintings.
I specially remember one of a pile of inverted baskets.
I had watch him paint this one on his balcony in Petit Goave.
I hope he is well. I remember him fondly as a great painter who knew his worth.
